Types of Kitchen Countertops Toronto – Everything You Need

So you’re curious about the different types of kitchen countertops in Toronto? You’ve come to the perfect place. Your kitchen literally makes or breaks your home. It’s where food is made, and memories are shared. You start your day there and end it just the same. Overall it’s an incredibly important part of your home, and it should be treated as such. Your kitchen shouldn’t be plagued by terrible looking countertops. Your countertops should be beautiful and bold. They should be terrific and satisfying to look at. In this article, we’re going to speak to the best types of countertops for each kitchen.

Natural Stone – Natural stone has been used for countertops for decades now. It’s a great way to make any kitchen look super modern and very rich. Stone-like granite and limestone are perfect for kitchen countertops. Not only do they look good, but they’re tough, and they’re super easy to clean. Seriously, you can spill anything on them, and it’ll come right off. Not to mention you could literally hit it with a sledgehammer and it’ll be perfectly fine (although we don’t recommend you try this out at home, just in case)!

Engineered Stone – This particular type of countertop is very similar to natural stone, but it comes with a lot of added benefits. First of all, engineered stone tends to be much stronger. Yes, that’s right. A countertop is stronger than natural stone! Typically this type of stone is used in professional kitchens, where heavy pots and pans are slammed down a lot. These countertops last a long time. Interestingly enough, they’re usually available in a whole bunch of colours!

Concrete – Want to try concrete for your countertops? Well, get in line! It’s been popular for quite a while now! A lot of people love concrete countertops because of how customizable they are. You can colour them any way you want. Manipulated shapes and ideas are way easier than stone, and they tend to actually be much cheaper. Assuming you don’t go crazy with the design aspect anyway.

Wood – Want a wooden countertop? These are perfect for farmhouses and cottages. They create a rustic vibe and a modern rich vibe all at once. Wood countertops are strong and last for quite a while if made right. However, they’re much easier to crack, and much harder to clean, then our other options. Should be fine if you’re not using it for heavy pots and pans.

Stainless Steel – Want something that’s super sanitary? Well, you’re in luck. Stainless steel countertops are used in professional kitchens because they’re ridiculously sterile. They are stupidly easy to clean, always look good, and survive anything you throw at them. Seriously, these are probably the most durable on the list. They don’t chip, they only dent. And even if they do, just push the dent out! Stainless steel is a wonderful invention that truly changed the kitchen countertop scene.

Laminate – This particular type of kitchen countertop is not the most popular, or the highest quality, but it’s certainly the cheapest. This is what you see in most kitchens because it does its job well, and it doesn’t cost all that much. Sure it doesn’t give off that crazy rich vibe, nor does it transform your home, but it’s easy to clean and easy to customize.
